The laboratory at GMC is a full service laboratory providing your physician with accurate results usually within an hour, sometimes minutes, of receiving your specimen. Instrumentation such as the Coulter ONYX, Roche MIRA and TOSOH AIA 360 provide an extensive test menu which includes complete blood counts, full chemistry including lipid and liver panels, and several immunoassays, such as Thyroid tests, PSA, Testosterone and Ferritin. The lab also performs several manual methodologies including testing for mononucleosis, Strep A, rheumatoid factor, pregnancy, urine micro albumin, and urinalysis. The laboratory staff is constantly seeking ways to improve and expand the test menu.
In addition to being certified through CLIA (the government regulatory agency over clinical laboratories), the laboratory recently decided to further exemplify its high standards and became accredited by COLA (an international healthcare accrediting body). GMC laboratory is proud of the fact that during the last CLIA inspection, the laboratory received a “perfect” score.
The competent staff has a combined experience of over 20 years. The testing personnel are specifically trained in clinical laboratory sciences, are ASCP certified, and actively participate in continuing education courses.
You will not have to leave our center to receive lab evaluation. Since the results are available in minutes, your doctor will make more informed decisions in caring for you.
